We were in D.C. for a wedding in April and had a great long weekend.  None of us had been out there before and we had a fabulous time.  I’ll be doing a couple posts of our highlights there!

First up Mt. Vernon!  We had such a beautiful day for walking around the property and we did a lot of walking!  I didn’t realize how huge it was.

Washingtons gardens were gorgeous…man would I love to sit and read there in the sun! (design magazines of course…not gonna pretend I’m all studious)

The back porch overlooking the bluffs of the Potomac were incredible.

We toured the home but no photos were allowed.  The colors inside were very interesting.  It kinda sparked the creative juices…more on that later.  We ended our visit to the restaurant there.  Servers with time period outfits and delicious food made it the perfect choice!  Next up Wedding!

I love Easter…

I love spring…

I love things starting to bloom…

Spring colors…things coming to life…

But the thing I love about Easter every year is that we celebrate a God who is real!

Not just some religion but a real Savior who died and rose from the grave on Easter to give new life to us!

Loved this song we sang at church…

We had brunch and then came back to our house for a great day of family!

Kids had fun opening Easter baskets..egg hunts..coloring eggs..and crafts!

IT FINALLY CAME!

My sweet little package from The Farm Chicks that I won from their business card contest!

What a great surprise to find in the mail this weekend…

But the best part was when I flipped through the book and out fell some stickers bookmarking the page where Serena signed!!!

So awesome that she signed the copy to me! I’m even thinking about being a little crazy and making a quick trip to The Farm Chicks Show in June…

I just wish Washington wasn’t so far…plane tickets are $$$!
